International art collective slashTHREE has released Unleashed, its 13th exhibition. There are a lot of dark though creative submissions among this collection of illustrations, photography and music. A few highlights:
The video below is part of a new campaign from Sussex Safer Roads Partnership, entitled Embrace Life. Instead of using shocking and bloody images of accidents, this commercial tries to evoke an emotional response in its viewers in order to promote the use of safety belts. And I must say, this combination of music, facial expressions, bare body parts and slow-mo makes it very effective.
The Klein bottle is a mathematical surface with no distinct “inner” and “outer” sides. Mathematical surfaces and shapes like the Klein Bottle intrigue architects because they provide new possible constructions and ways of communication. Klein Bottle House is an example of architecture inspired by these structures. The architects have successfully created a vacation home which messes with your brain but - nevertheless - is warm and inviting. Therefor, it doesn’t come as a surprise that this house won the award of best home of 2009, at the World Architecture Festival.
Although it’s short, this exciting and brilliantly creative commercial directed by Chris Cunningham really caught my attention. Riccardo Ruini, concept developer:
We felt it was important to demonstrate a movement of the female from mademoiselle to empowered woman; a woman initially delicate and feminine transforming into someone stronger and more powerful.
I’ve finally made a new portfolio for my illustrations and photography, which is now the home page of h2ogd.com. I chose for a very clean black and white layout so most of the attention will be drawn to the artwork. With the launch of the new portfolio, I’ve added some of my recent work including a set of posters and photography for slashTHREE’s Steampunk.
